The “Waking of the Lion”ceremony carried out by the winners of our Annual Chinese New Year Theme Painting Competition.
A traditional Chinese 10 Course Banquet at Jimmy Chungs Restaurant Bank Street Inverness with advance purchased tickets. The Banquet was always well attended by our member, their friends and local residents. We have been honoured that the Chinese Consul General always granted their presence as well as the Provost of Inverness City, Police Scotland representative and local businesses CEO. Apart from the scrumptious 10 course banquet, guests are entertained by variety of performances such as Lion Dance display, Chinese Opera Singer Fong Liu, Kirkcaldy born Chinese Folk singer Andy Chung, Shaolin Kung Fu display, Children Traditional Fan & Ribbon Dance display and Close-up Magic. Our annual fund-raising raffle with prizes donated by local businesses enabled fund raised toward the community activities’ cost at our Multicultural Centre. We also visited local schools on requests giving culture talks and dance workshops. |
